Watching the Watchmen at Greenwich IMAX

Feverishly-awaited graphic novel movie Watchmen will be dropping jaws at Greenwich's new IMAX cinema next year.

The Bugsby's Way cinema - which will open on Friday with screenings of Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa - will screen the film version of Alan Moore's classic from March 6.

On the roads, there are big tailbacks at the Blackwall Tunnel due to a northbound broken down vehicle and southbound due to a faulty traffic light.

Gianfranco Zola's Hammers side held table-toppers Liverpool to a draw on their own patch - and were a whisker away from taking all three points back to East London.

Keeper Robert Green pulled off a string of saves to thwart Liverpool's early onslaught, and Craig Bellamy's first half shot bounced agonisingly clear off the inside of a post.

Credit Suisse to shed 650 jobs

Credit Suisse became the latest Canary Wharf bank to slash jobs when they announced 650 roles would go at its UK operations.

The Switzerland-based company made the announcement of cuts, which represents three per cent of its workforce, on Tuesday.

It's one type of property scheme that seems to have benefited from the credit crunch.

The future is looking good for “property guardian” companies which operate by recruiting tenants to occupy vacant premises to help look after them.

HSBC announces 500 job cuts

Canary Wharf's HSBC staff suffered a major blow after the bank announced it was cutting its workforce by 500.

The decision, which was revealed on Monday afternoon, has been met with anger by union officers, particularly because of its timing.
